Spirited is an odd book. For one thing, it's huge compared to the rest of the series. My version is not the typical paperback size like the other books. It starts out like a historical novel, which is promising, but eventually, all these supernatural elements come in and we've got stuff from Beauty and the Beast and it's just kinda meh. I didn't really care about any of the characters and found Wusamequin's flip-flopping annoying. The supernatural stuff is really quite out there compared to the historical setting. The romance feels forced. It's just not that good, which is why it took so long for me to plow through it for the second time.
